Commonwealth Connections

Commonwealth Day is marked each year on 14 March. The theme of Commonwealth Day 2022 is 'delivering a common future'. The University understands the range of views and feelings about the Commonwealth in our diverse community. The day is intended as a moment of reflection, to celebrate our present-day connections with the Commonwealth and to explore the complexities of some of our historic connections with the Commonwealth.

This year's Commonwealth Day is particularly significant for the University, the city and the wider region as Birmingham prepares to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games in July and August.

An Official Partner of the Games, the University will play a major role in delivering this summer's Games, and we want to offer staff and students the opportunity to find out more about the history and the future of the Commonwealth.
