About this event

You are invited to attend the final of the Vice-Chancellor’s Challenge 2022 on Friday 1st April 2022, 11.00– 12.30pm in the Aston Webb Main Lecture Theatre.

In the Vice-Chancellor’s Challenge, teams of students from across the University are supported by academics and business representatives to develop a novel solution to an exciting real-world challenge. This year’s theme is ‘Seeking Solutions to Global Challenges’ and students have generated solutions to challenges based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

At this event, the finalists will show a video presenting their idea and engage in a Q&A session with the Vice-Chancellor, panel and audience before the panel selects the winning group. The stakes are high – the winners will have the opportunity to access up to £10k to make their idea a reality.

The Vice-Chancellor will be joined on the panel by Matt Hammond, Midlands Region Leader and Birmingham Senior Partner at PwC, Faye Bowser, Head of Energy Solutions (GB&I) at Siemens, Professor Catherine Mangan, Director of Education for the College of Social Sciences, and Education Officer for the Guild of Students, Jules Singh.

This is a great opportunity for staff and students to come together, support the participants and hear some brilliant ideas. We hope to see you there!

If you'd like to attend please register via Eventbrite.
